Effective August 10, 2026
ServiceVault is a local-first app. All data you create — vehicle details, service history, maintenance schedules, parts, trouble codes, notes, and any photos you attach — is stored in a local database on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export or share it yourself (for example, using the built-in Backup & Transfer feature, or the Share button on a PDF report).
ServiceVault has no backend server. There is nothing for us to collect, because there is nowhere for your data to go.
ServiceVault makes network requests only when you use a specific feature that needs current external information, and only directly to that information's source — never through a server we operate, because we don't operate one:
vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov) to look up year/make/model/trim/engine details.api.nhtsa.gov) to check for open recalls. This can run automatically (toggleable in Settings) or on demand.Every one of these requests goes directly from your device to NHTSA's public servers. We don't operate a server in between, we don't log these requests, and we don't receive a copy of them. No feature that talks to the network is required for the app's core functionality — vehicle tracking, service history, reminders, and manual trouble-code lookup all work fully offline.
ServiceVault has no sign-in, no user accounts, no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting services, no advertising networks, and no third-party tracking of any kind.
ServiceVault is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age — there is nothing to collect regardless of who uses the app.
Because everything lives only on your device, deleting the app deletes your data. Use Settings → Data → Backup & Transfer if you want a copy — that backup file is yours, stored wherever you choose to save or share it, and ServiceVault never sees it.
